What is the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation?
The Royal LePage Shelter Foundation is Canada’s largest public foundation dedicated to funding women’s shelters and violence prevention programs. 100% of donations to the foundation go towards helping women and children rebuild their lives after suffering domestic violence.
Each year, the Shelter Foundation helps over 50 thousand women and children through shelters and programs, and $33 million has been raised since 1998 in support of these efforts. 200 local women’s shelters and national partners have been helped during that time, and Royal LePage agents have been voluntarily — and generously — donating a portion of their commissions to help the cause.
The Royal LePage Shelter Foundation is fully run by volunteers so that every single dollar raised goes toward these necessary shelters and programs.
2019 was a great year for the Shelter Foundation
Royal LePage has just released the numbers from 2019, and we’re very proud to announce that, throughout Canada, we raised over $3.3 million! Hundreds of Royal LePage agents generously gave a portion of their earnings, resulting in thousands of women and children receiving the help they need.
Royal LePage has also announced its top donors for 2019, and the Gino Cipriano team is incredibly proud to be among the top 10% of agents across the country. We make it our goal to give back as much as possible every year, and we’re more than happy to give to such a worthy cause. We hope that one day the Shelter Foundation won’t be needed, but until then, we’re honoured to give as much as we can to this necessary cause.
How you can help the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation
Giving to the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation isn’t just for Royal LePage agents — anyone can get involved!
If you would simply like to make a donation in any amount, you can visit the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation’s donation page. Donations of $20 or more are eligible for tax receipts.
If you’d like to take your involvement to the next level, you can participate in any number of the Shelter Foundation’s fundraising events throughout the year. The largest of which is the National Garage Sale for Shelter. This signature, nationwide event is a one-day garage sale held at Royal LePage offices and other community locations across Canada.
All proceeds from the garage sale go toward women’s shelters and violence prevention programs, and Royal LePage covers administrative costs and event expenses to keep it that way.
You can help by donating gently used items to your local Royal LePage garage sale office or community location. Some locations even feature children’s activities and a BBQ lunch! So you can feel great knowing that you’re helping a worthy cause, have a bit of fun with your family, and maybe even pick up a few items yourself!
